  • by

The five-day GBV Case Management and Referral Pathways Training came to a successful close on 21 June 2026 at the Capitol Hotel in Buea, marking the end of an intensive and enriching capacity-building experience for participants drawn from various organizations working to support survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Throughout the training, participants strengthened their knowledge and practical skills in survivor-centered case management, referral mechanisms, communication techniques, trauma-informed approaches, ethical principles, and effective service provision. The sessions were highly interactive, combining presentations, group discussions, role plays, case studies, and practical exercises that encouraged active participation and peer learning.

The training concluded with reflections on key lessons learned, reaffirming the commitment of participants to apply the knowledge and skills gained in their daily work. The experience not only strengthened technical capacities but also fostered collaboration, networking, and a renewed dedication to delivering survivor-centered services. Hadassah Foundation was honored to be part of this impactful learning journey and remains committed to enhancing the quality of GBV response and support services within communities.

Thursday, May 28, 2026, Hadassah Foundation carried out an educational outreach at St. Valentine’s Orphanage in commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, aimed at sensitizing young girls on the critical issue of menstrual health and its impact on personal development. To maximize the reach and impact of the initiative, the foundation successfully brought together and merged the children from Maria Mojoko Orphanage with those at St. Valentine’s Orphanage, hosting them in a centralized, supportive environment.
The session focused on two primary areas: the Physical and Biological Aspects of Menstrual Health and the Social and Hygienic Practices Essential for Daily Living. • by

This sensitization was aimed at sensitizing children on the critical issue of drug abuse and its effects on personal development.
The session focused on two primary areas: the Physical and Mental Effects of Drug Abuse and the Social and Behavioral Consequences of substance misuse. The children were educated on what constitutes drug abuse, specifically how the misuse of substances interferes with the development of the brain. Emphasis was placed on the long-term health risks associated with addiction and the importance of maintaining a healthy body to achieve future goals. The children were encouraged to understand that their physical and mental well-being is a valuable asset that must be protected from the harmful chemicals found in illicit drugs. Educating the children on Social and Behavioral Consequences, we introduced the children to the negative impact that drug abuse has on academic performance, family relationships, and legal standing. The conversation also included practical guidance on navigating peer pressure and the importance of making informed, independent decisions when faced with social challenges. By discussing the risks of addiction and the potential for drugs to derail one’s life ambitions, the session provided the children with a realistic perspective on why a drug-free lifestyle is essential.
The session was interactive and impactful, providing the children with valuable knowledge to guide their personal development and decision-making. The outreach was successful in building a solid foundation of awareness and promoting healthy behaviors. To ensure these vital lessons are reinforced, HaDasaah Foundation will continue engaging in follow-up sessions, providing the consistent support necessary to safeguard the well-being and future success of the children.

Hadassah Foundation carried out a sensitization talk on the prevention of sexual exploitation and assault at Foundation Nursery and Primary School, On the 29th of April 2026,.

  • by

Teaching children in primary school about boundaries, consent, and how to recognize unsafe situations helps protect them from sexual assault and exploitation. Age-appropriate education gives kids the confidence to speak up, seek help, and understand that their safety and voice matter.

Being able to recognize inappropriate behavior, and the importance of speaking up and seeking help from trusted adults is very crucial to young kids. Through interactive discussions and age-appropriate examples, the team emphasized personal safety, respect for one’s body, and the need to report any form of abuse. The activity was well received by both pupils and staff, contributing to ongoing efforts to promote a safe and protective environment for children.
